Kentucky continued to refine its search for a point guard in 2018 and appears to have taken the next step forward on Wednesday. John Calipari and the Wildcats extended an offer to 5-foot-9 New Albany (OH) point guard Antonio Watson II after evaluating the junior at the school's open gym.

Watson is the second point guard Kentucky has offered in the 2018 class, as the Wildcats extended an offer to 6-foot-4 John Carroll School (MD) guard Immanuel Quickley earlier in October. The son of former Ohio State standout Antonio Watson I, Watson II, despite behind 5-foot-9, is still growing and is expected to stretch out to 6-foot-7 before high school graduation.

"Watson's upside is tremendous. He has a chance to be one of the nation's top 10 point guards," John Stovall, prep basketball analyst for ESPN, told React365.com. "Think of Anthony Davis mixed with Steph Curry inside a Kevin Durant type frame. That is Antonio Watson."

Watson is regarded as one of Ohio's top guards in the 2018 class, rising to the top of the state's rankings after a dominant fall showing at Coach Vic's Weekly Showcase. It was there that Watson began to stand out among the region's best.

"He is my favorite player to watch in 2018," Jason Morrow, co-owner of 270Hoops.com, said. "I honestly think he is a better point guard, at this point, than Tyus Jones."

Watson is coming off a strong sophomore season in which he averaged 7.8 points and 3.9 assists on the New Albany High School junior varsity team. The small guard received his first bit of varsity action, serving as the team's water boy during the Eagles' run to the Division I district semifinals.

With a highly anticipated junior season on the horizon, Watson is looking to exceed the expectations that come with being heavily recruited. Outside of the offer from Kentucky, Watson has received scholarships from Arizona, Duke, Kansas, Michigan, West Virginia and Xavier. At this point, however, it appears Kentucky is leading in the process.

After all, the Wildcats staff was alerted of Watson's performance this fall through Twitter, as head coach Calipari was tagged in numerous tweets by Watson's mom, Belinda McCord.

"Calipari was on Twitter one afternoon looking for the new single from Drake and received 26 notifications in a row," an unnamed source close to the Kentucky program told React365. "He opened up the original tweet, mainly because the avi of the user looked pretty hot. After expanding her profile picture, Calipari decided it would be a good idea to pursue Watson."

Stay tuned to React365 on further Kentucky basketball recruiting news in the coming weeks.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
