A Watseka man was arrested Tuesday afternoon when police responded to a call that a man in a Blue and purple Tye-Dyed Grateful Dead T-Shirt, was walking around the area of The Watseka Theatre hugging homeless people. When police arrived Joseph E. Peal of 420 Old Shoe Ln. was seen sitting with a homeless man talking to him and then standing and hugging other individuals who were also appeared to be homeless.
Police arrested Peal on 13 counts of disturbing the peace. He was booked and released on $250 bail. When asked by our reporter Joseph Peal had this to say...

"Look I don't have a lot of money. I cannot donate money to the poor or any charities. All I can do is come out here and talk to these people who are human beings just like us and maybe just maybe I can save a life or be able to aid or point someone In The right direction. I've had my life changed so many times for many reasons. Maybe I can be the reason someone decides there life is worth it. The police can continue to arrest me for being a compassionate human being and I will continue to serve the purpose I have selected for myself.

The sheriffs office declined to comment but anunidentified source did say...We cannot have people helping the homeless. There are state funded establishments that will accept underprivladged adults. We want the public, as well as the homeless folks to know that we have info inside the police stations to help point them to the locations off said establishments. Pamphlets can. be picked up between 3-5 pm Mondays, and Friday's

A Court hearing is set for Dec 4 2016. Mr. Peal also stated that he has decided to represent himself and is also being assisted by the man he was seen hugging. For more info follow us on twitter @haypilesstacks

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
