U.S. border authorities have arrested a man at the Philadelphia International Airport for trying to smuggle 18 pounds of heroin into the United States from Sierra’s capital Freetown.
Donovan Wesley , a United States citizen, is wanted in Chester pa, this week after U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers discovered that his car had multiple duffle bags in the back seat filled with a drug substance ( Classified ) .
Wesley , a 22 -year-old resident of North Philly , was attempting to pass through Chester when officials noticed that his bags were heavier than usual.
After being escorted to a police vehicle officials assessed the content of his bags. The hidden compartments and a light brown substance that later tested positive for heroin was discovered in the bags.
Authorities estimate that the 18 pounds of heroin that was seized from Wesley has a value of $512,000.
“This latest seizure demonstrates the vigilance of our CBP officers and their excellence in detecting those who attempt to smuggle these illegal substances,” said Robert E. Perez, a Field Operations Director in Philadelphia.
Wesley bolted out of the area into a unknown car and is now on the run.
There is a $50,000 reward for his whereabouts.
Officials also found 4, Ak 47 rifles and 2 glock 19 pistols.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation.
