On December 13, 2015 at about 4:30 am on a Sunday Morning, DeAndre Baker was driving home after a night of hanging out with buddies. when he approached a vehicle that had struck a concrete median in the South bound express lanes of I-94 in Chicago Illinois.

He noticed a disoriented and blood covered man walking on the highway toward oncoming traffic in a confused state. Instinctively, DeAndre pulled his Vehicle over, runs and grabs the confused man and pulls him out of harms way. Within minutes of doing so another vehicle struck the man's disabled vehicle causing it to burst into flames upon impact. The vehicle was hit so hard that it spent around 3-4 times before striking DeAndre's truck, which was 4-5 car lengths away, causing both vehicles to go up in flames.

This set off a chain reaction of collisions which also involved 5 other vehicles. Even though there were multiple injuries, due to DeAndre's quick thinking and his unselfish act, no deaths occurred from this horrific accident. This is almost a year later and DeAndre's insurance company "Founders Insurance" based in Desplaines Illinois, has given him the run around in attempts to pay him less than what his 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe Z71 is worth. DeAndre has had to complain to the "State of Illinois Department of Insurance" and has also had to pay for rental cars and two separate appraisal's.

DeAndre said " I never thought I'd be villainized for saving someone's life". We're wishing DeAndre the best, but sometimes "No good deed goes unpunished" and unfortunately that may be the reality in this case.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
