A small city located in Antwerp, Belgium has been struck with a traumatic story that has been interluding throughout the area for over a week now.
Merksem, a remote city residing within Antwerp, Belgium, is a compact community with roughly 41,004 inhabitants (as of 2006, source: https://fr.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merksem). Criminal activity generally does not go unnoticed, due to the tight space around and the overall gossip that can easily be spread from door-to-door. One story, though, has been brought to the community's attention, bringing on a backlash of shock and horror amongst family groups.
A local teenager, Amina Jie-Sam Foek, only 13-years-old, has been subject to prostitution during the late evening hours in the small city. Allegedly "sneaking off" to work the night-shift, Ms Foek has been taken into custody by municipal authorities. "I never thought what I was doing was really wrong," says Foek. "I just wanted to get money for waffles. That's all."
Lt. Matteo Maes, the officer who arrested the young teen, was reluctant to comment on the situation. "We don't really know what to make of this," says the officer. "I know we make good waffles around here, but couldn't she just settle for something else?" The girl's parents have been uncooperative in giving a proper response, but have made claims that they've "raised her well" and that "she's never shown signs of waffle addiction."
Waffle addiction has been rampant in the country for over 19 years now due to the influx of American citizens storming the country. Rival militias and underground networks have been using any tactics possible to establish an efficient waffle-trafficking enigma, hoping to spread around Europe. These sorts of criminal masterminds are not above using children and teens to make ends meet — this case being a prime example.
More information is being processed and awaited on as time passes. Reporters for EWN (UK) have been tirelessly making attempts to release information given by the local authorities in the area. The president of Belgium has scheduled a visit on 8 November for the city to speak on the matters.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild.
