Just weeks before filming was to begin on a new History Channel series, 43 year old Tom Colosimo made an abrupt change in plans, for himself and the History Channel.

Last month the Newton Falls, Ohio man put the village of under 5,000 people on the map when initial contract negotiations were made with the History Channel for a reality style show called "Ohio Pickers", which was to be fashioned after the popular show "American Pickers".

But just this week when CBS producers contacted Colosimo to discuss the possibility of him hosting the popular Game show "Let's Name a Deal" the stakes changed as did the game. Colosimo immediately accepted the contact offer which was considerably lower than the History Channel offerings. When asked if he had given enough thought before he made his decision Colosimo's only comment was that money dpesnt matter when you are chasing a,dream. "Even being on the audience has always been my "bucket list"  I've always said that if I could have only one wish granted it would be having a role of any kind on the show." Colosimo went on to say that "by far, Let's Make A Deal is my favorite TV show ever! Now that I have this shot I don't ever want to look at another antique or even hear the work Picker!"

Colosimo's exuberance was so much beyond what CBS executives anticipated they flew him to their studios for a tour and explain his future with the show. The article photo shows a mock episode that was shot during his visit. Let's Make A Deal staff labeled Colosimo a "natural" for the quirky show, also saying that his trademark furry animal hat adds a special touch of class to the show! It has been verified that it's been over 30 years since Colosimo has worn the hat only taking it off to shower and when attending OSU Football games. The hat was a confirmation gift from the Colosimo family version of "That One Uncle Who Just Ain't Right." New episodes of LET'S MAKE A DEAL, featuring Colosimo air in February.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
