Earlier today, a stunning trade was made between two of the leagues best clubs in Chicago and Montréal. The Hawks send forward Patrick Kane [28], forward Marian Hossa [38] and goaltender Corey Crawford [32] for Montréal defenseman Jordie Benn [30] and goaltender Carey Price [29]. Moves were made by the Hawks most likely due to salary cap troubles. Both Kane and Price carry a 10 M / yr salary, which cancels themselves out. Hossa carries a salary of about 6 M with bonuses and Benn only holds 825,000. Hossa was most likely just added as an asset along with Kane since he will not be able to play this upcoming season. This also leaves Crawford going to Montréal with a 6 M salary until the 2020-21 season for Montréal. At the end of the day, these moves leave Chicago with more than 10 Million dollars left of cap space, which can help later in Free Agency or later in the upcoming season via trade. This trade benefits both clubs, with the Canadiens up front in the lack of scoring with the new talent of Kane. But better for Chicago, they add defensive depth with Benn and add a strong goaltender in Price. Will these moves help these teams moving into the near future. The Blackhawks did gain defensive depth but did pay a price in giving up Patrick Kane. But on the other hand, can the Canadiens finally find the scoring depth that they need to succeed? More information will be released later this week regarding more issues

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
